Karel Husa wrote a work for brass quintet and orchestra. I have the score for it but I cannot put my hands on it just now. It was in the Robert King Catalog years ago, but, only in score form.

Ben:

I don't know that the Husa piece has ever been recorded. Much of Husa's music is rather obscure, though I don't think it should be. Husa taught at Cornell University. One of the trumpet players in our orchestra attended Cornell and played much of Karel Husa's stuff. I can ask Dipak about it and get back to you.

Have you heard the Koetsier concerto for quintet and orchestra. Das Rhenquinttet recorded a CD entirely of Koetsier's quintet music and this is on there. Great piece IMO.

Ben:

Here are the details from the Robert King Catalog:

LEDUC EDITIONS MUSICALES, ALPH CONCERTO (QUINTETTE CUIVRES ET / [ORCHESTRE CORDES) PARTITION IN 16 (POCHE)]

The Koestier from the previous post also sounds interesting.

Sagittarius (a concerto grosso for Brass Quintet and Orchestra)

I have performed it a few times over, recorded it, and also have had a couple of grad brass quintets play it with university orchestra. Audience friendly, “ensemble” friendly, fwiw.

Score/parts available here:

Recording:
CBC SM 328 (1976) National Arts Centre Orchestra with the Canadian Brass
Conductor: Mario Bernardi

Also, search the Tubenet forum – there are some suggestions already buried therein:
