I just wanted to ask everyone that has played the Petrushka, PF 125, and the MW 45. How does the 45 compare to these other two "big" F tubas?

Thanks Tubenetters.

This is the Gronitz PF 125. The one that is the same size as the yamaha 822 and the petrushka. I just played it today.

I find that the 45s projects quite well, I play on number 118 of the model, I love it. It's a horn that you will work to get used to and once you do, you'll fall in love with it.

I don't think it was an attack.

No, i know that now, especially since he took his last post down. Thats why i put "defend" but he deleted it after my last post. Elephant, I really appreciate your help, and I really hope that you aren't upset with me. I have read many forums with you in them, and you seem like a great guy, and I know that everything you post is meant to help, and I appreciate that. Thank You

Cody

Having owned a MW45s and a Gronitz PF-125 I would make the following observations:

1. The MW 45s has fewer intonation challenges
2. The PF-125 has fewer challenges below the staff
3. Both have a beautiful sound
4. The MW45s is rotary and projects well
5. The PF-125 is piston and has a rounder sound
6. The MW 45s is a 6/4 and sounds big, the PF is a 5/4 and sounds big

Both are GREAT tubas when you get to know them.......

I haven't had the opportunity to play the new piston Miraphone.

My 2 cents.....
