You can get one from Bob Tucci for an outrageous amount of money (3920 Euros in F; 4900 yo's in BBb). http://www.hornboerse.de/cgi-bin/shop/l ... e&nocache=" target="_blank" target="_blank

Re: Anyone seen one of these?
Not really... the bore profile of the MW is more a cimbasso/cylindrical instrument. The Tornisters are real tubas of very narrow profile. And this one is in BBb, I think.tubainty wrote:That is very cool.. Is it similar to the Meinl travel tuba?

This tuba would be a lot easier to haul around than my King!
Beginning again to be a tuba player.
1291 King Double B flat with detachable bell.

That is an amazing sound for such a small tuba! Really full with plenty of tone. The only thing is, I wonder as it is amplified how accurately the video reflects its true tone? If it really sounds that good, then a Tornister would make the ideal stand up gig, or travelling tuba
Does anyone know if that is the F, or BBb version?

Re: Anyone seen one of these?
I would have to hear an unamplified version before passing judgment. I think I can get the same type of sound out of any one of three or four of the 'dinky' horns that I have here.

I also wonder if this guy is just a superb player. Plenty of us have heard of some professional tuba player picking up some clunker of a tuba and making it sound great.Neptune wrote:That is an amazing sound for such a small tuba!
