Tuba and Violin Duet

Post by Lee Jacobs »

I'm looking for a duet for tuba and violin to play on my upcoming recital. I don't want anything that will be too taxing to learn, but I would like it to be a serious piece (preferably about 5-10 minutes). I know that there's a few of these out there; I just don't know the titles or composers. Thanks.

Lee

P.S. If you know the publisher or where I can get the music from that would be helpful too.

this past summer i bought a piece for tuba and violin for me and my girlfriend to pley together. it's 8 duets for tuba and violin by william presser. they are short duets and as a whole the set stands at about 12 minutes i think. pretty duets but not challenging for an intermediate tuba or violin.

Robert King offers a piece called "Air and Dance" by Frackenpohl for violin and tuba. I don't know anything about it, but it's only $8.

Get the Beethoven Duos for violin and cello (originally for clarinet and bassoon I think) Good challenging F tuba part for the cello part and great music for both.
