Who made the Bach Mercedes tuba? Or should I ask which company supplied the parts for the Mercedes tuba?
Mercedes BBb tuba 4RV (made by B&S for the Selmer-Bach corporation sometime around 1970 or 1975):Alex C wrote:Thanks, appreciate the answer.

...yes...??
So the put the Bach name on an Olds tuba and cheapened it up so they could raise the price. Typical.bloke wrote:built (from 1980...or 1981) for a few years at the Bach #2 plant - around the corner from the Bach plant where the Stradivarius instruments are made.
A couple of minor differences included
- pistons that were (??) a couple of thousandths of an inch larger diameter than the Olds/Reynolds pistons (just for $h!+$...??)
- "friction"-fit waterkey PINS (rather than Olds/Reynolds waterkey SCREWS)
