Offenbach Orpheus in the Underworld

I'm subbing in an orchestra this week (first time ever!) and just got the music, including the Offenbach Orpheus in the Underworld overture.

The part is for ophecleide -- bring along the F tuba for this, or play on CC?

The other pieces are certainly CC pieces, so don't want to drag along the whole family unless I have to. Bear with me, I'm a rookie :)

I just sang Orpheus with a small company a few months ago. The guy in the orchestra played some old, chopped King CC. Fit like a glove to me! Then again, it was a rather large orchestra :tuba:

I was asked specifically to play this piece on the big tuba in a Pops setting last year. The "can-can" part is the reason he wanted me on CC.

Non-pops. I really don't know the group, the dress rehearsal will be my first look/listen. Also playing Tchaik 3 and Finlandia.

I would use the big horn. The "Can-Can" section can get loud and you will need to match up to the trombones.

Thanks everyone.

Bloke, nope, just the Marzan and the Cerveny. Sounds like it's not worth it to lug 2 tubas into town for... Might ask the low brass section leader, but kinda don't want to stick the "I'll carry 2 tubas" bug in his ear if I don't *need* to.
