1971 YouTube feature on US military musicians

Being on the right web list gave me this link, where some TubeNetter’s even may get a glimpse of themselves. Interesting to see that one band gave opportunity to a musical career of pulling the bass drum buggy.

I don’t recognise all of the music, but especially the title of one march would have my interest. It is played by 3 bands in the section about military bands going to foreign countries (Germany, a desert state, and Japan).

The trumpet student is the legendary L.F. Edwards wh spent most of his time with the Continental Army Band. LF was a good trumpet player, but was a GREAT guitar player and singer. He also one of the funniest human beings on planet earth. It was always a fun day when you worked for him.

Thanks for the 1961 link, David!

This older link concentrates on Pershing’s Own from Fort Myers. Which is OK. Still I find the 1971 feature more interesting because it has more music and much less speak.
