What instrument or instruments did Jinbao base this horn on? This picture is from an M&M auction on eBay: Here is another look from a different site:

King 2341? just a little bit different?

Call me strange, but I see a Hirsbrunner piston horn with a 2341 first valve.
Ignore the 5th valve.

Perhaps the 2341 1st valve tubing was chosen because it gives a good place to mount a thumb ring. Just a guess.

^ When I saw that Jinbao tuba picture, I immediately thought: combination of HB-21 + King 2341

I am of the opinion that horn is the Jinbao JBBB-210 body with a piston valve set.

Matt... is the horn in question intended to be a copy of something? ... or did Jinbao acually come up with a design they thought to be unique?

Comparing the pictures on alibaba, I think you're right. I didn't see it at first, but Bloke said pretty much the same in the other thread and then I saw the similarity.

What do you make of the valve set?

You all, instead of guessing what the Jinbao Tubas are and what are they doing give us a call and we will tell you all the latest news , We can do this since we are making them to our specs
