Tuba in London

My tuba was stolen about a month ago and I will be studying in London for the fall. I thought that I would have a CC tuba by now, but I don't and I'm going to have to wait until I get back from London to purchase one. Does anyone know a place in London (or around) that I can rent a CC tuba? I'll be bringing my F tuba with me, but I would like time to practice on the big horn before I come back for grad auditions.

Thanks for the help!

Contact Phil Parker http://www.philparker.co.uk which is the brass store in London and if they cannot help you could try Mark Carter http://www.MrTuba.com who has a good stock of CC tuba, although he is in South Wales 3 hours from London.

I don't know if either will rent, but they may let you use a used/demo CC if they have available - no harm asking anyway.

Phil Parker apparently only have Eb tubas in stock. A situation also known from other stores not specializing in tubas like Mr. Tuba and Bob Tucci (in Munich) do.

As I read you, you will be associated with some sort of (music?) school during your studies. Have you asked them, if they have instruments available for students?

Klaus, Phil Parker had a MW 2155 and B&S PT-6P on display in the shop when I visited them one month ago.

every time I have been into their shop they have had a variety of CC tubas, they will be as helpful as they possibly can be.

Reality being better than the web marketing is a nice thing. I certainly have seen more cases being the other way round.

My point of asking a potential school still stands.

Unfortunately neither Phil Parker, nor Mr.Tuba maintain their webpages - the only way to know what they have in stock is to contact, or visit.

As Peter says, Phil Parker usually have a few CC - while Mr.Tuba maintains much larger stock of a variety of makes (even had a Nirschl the last time I visited).
