Bach 5GB. It's a little larger, and the slightly shallower cup makes high register a little easier than a plain 5G.

Doesn’t the instrument that the Germans call Bariton always come with a medium receiver very close or identical to the old British euphonium receiver?

They make the 5GB in small and large shank, and even in Megatone with both shanks (special order only). The one I'd been using is actually a small-shank Jupiter mouthpiece, but I wasn't able to tell a difference between it and the real Bach.

You can put a small shank on any of my mouthpieces, and you have a wide range of choices in larger rim diameters that might be much more comfortable to a tubist in a doubling situation. Take a look at my website and email me if you have questions. The othe advantage is that you can put a medium (old Besson size) shank or a large shank on it, for other instruments.

I've wrestled with a mp for euphonium for several weeks now. The 52E2 was recommended to me by a euph \ Eb tuba player just yesterday, but the store I was at didn't have it in stock. I found a Ferguson "V" large shank mp here: http://www.hornguys.com/euphmps.php I played this mp on a York Pref euphonium and the whole range of the instrument was a piece of cake. On Bb tuba I play a Bach 7, so I think the large mp's fit me best; you may be different. Hope that helps.

And now for something completely different: Schilke 50. A scaled down version of the 51D, the 50 gets great overall intonation and control, and the cup is deep enough, but not too deep, to get good tone.
