I am currently conducting a study on military band excerpts for euphonium, and I need a little bit of help from the tuba/euph community.

My study is comparing the excerpts that are generally taught in colleges to the excerpts that are most frequently asked for in military band auditions. In order to complete this study, I am compiling a list of excerpts that have been asked for on auditions in recent years (last 10) from the top military bands.

Here's where I need help - I've contacted the premiere bands of all of the branches of the military to attempt to get past audition lists, but have only gotten about 3 responses. If you auditioned for or happen to have a list of excerpts that were requested for an audition, please post it here! I need the following information:

1. Ensemble/branch of the military
2. Year
3. Excerpt list

I'm hoping to collect up to 10 years back, but if those lists no longer exist, even the most recent one would suffice.

Also, if you have any other suggestions for ways I could get a hold of these lists, I would appreciate it.

Dr. Jerry Young would probably be of a great help in this process. His sabbatical report in 1998 was a study of the auditioning process of tuba/euphonium players for military bands.

Outside of straight up asking the military or military members itself, he would probably be the most helpful or helpful in leading you in the right direction.

It doesn't hurt that Dr. Young is a great guy to talk to/be around.
