iPhone app for recording

There are plenty of apps to record, but I can't find one where you can adjust the recording level. So all I get is distortion when recording my playing. Do any of you know of an app where I can get decent recordings. I don't care if it costs, since I would probably pay much more for a stand alone recorder.

Yeah, my research uncovered that Blue Mikey. Looking like that's the only way.

I use the Gig Daddy ap and the Blue Mikey microphone. It works pretty well and you just need to keep the gain down and perhaps put a piece of Kleenex in fromt of the microphone.

Try it.

Whatever app you get, realize that the iPhone microphone intentionally rolls off response below 200-300 Hz. You will absolutely need an external microphone to record tuba playing.

I already own an AT-822. But I still have no way to control the recording level unless I buy one of those Blue Mikey's

I got an iPhone thinking it would be my one device: phone, iPod, metronome, PDA, digital recorder, email appliance, and probably some other things. It hasn't worked out. It's a phone, and ipod, and a PDA. For the rest, I've had to keep using separate devices. One day perhaps there will be the one device, but that day is not here yet.
