What's a good gig bag for a 1291?

Hi all - looking for a decent gig bag for my Miraphone 1291 CC. I have one that fits it, unfortunately the bell is VERY prone to wrinkles in it (anyone else have this problem with this horn - the bell seems to be very thin, which probably lends to the sound, but still). I was wondering if there is a bag that anyone has had experience with that protects the bell well and at the same time has the portability of a gig bag.

Gig bags are most ofter called "dent bags" here. Guess Why? Nonetheless, most of us use them. For my money, Cronkhite bags are the gold standard. Soundwear bags are supposedly quite good too but I've never used one. Both will cost you some $$$ but, if you are going to use a bag, these offer the best protection.

Look into the Mirafone bag. Fits like a glove (because it is made for the horn) and offers very good protections.

Yeah, the Miraphone gig bags are GREAT. I own one, it offers great protection with a carbon fiber (or whatever its made of) disk in the bell section

I second the Miraphone bag. It's a well designed bag with great features. I especially like the reflective strips they put on it so cars can see you at night when you're riding your bicycle with the horn on your back. It's also less expensive than a Cronkhite and they are usually readily available. Don't get me wrong - Glenn makes a great product and it would be close to the top of my list as well - I just think the Miraphone bag gives you a little more bang for the buck in this instance.

The Miraphone bags are good but nothing beats the Cronkhite bags. They are custom fit for the horn. I have two, one for my CC and one for my F, both in leather, and will never buy another bag. I had a cordura bag for the CC to start off and there were quite a few dings put in the horn. Someone once said on here (and it stuck with me) "If you're going to invest 9-10k in an instrument you need to factor in the price of a quality case/bag that will protect the instrument". Yes, they're $550 BUT if you want to keep your horn pristine it's well worth the investment. The Miraphone bags start at $269 on WWBW... Why not save up the extra cash and buy yourself some peace of mind?

Call Roger Lewis get a Miraphone bag I just bought one from Roger to be able to carry my Miraphone 191 in my Corvette. Fit is GREAT and the disc in the end of the bell helps protect it, and is just built well. And plus Roger is just one hell of a nice guy to talk to.
