Can anyone identify this mouthpiece? Never seen one of these.

Looks like a Rudy Muck 'cushion-rim' cornet mouthpiece.

It's hard to tell scale from a photo like that, but based on the relative size of the rim vs. the cup I would say that it is NOT a tuba or even a trombone mouthpiece.

Lew, I would disagree. It is very hard to judge from this picture. The shank looks right for Tuba. The cup and back bore opening are strange, but that doesn't rule them out from being a Tuba mouthpiece.

My dad used to have an original Rudy Muck trumpet mouthpiece, which I sold to a collector, and this does not appear to be a Rudy Muck. They had thick rims, but a rather plain bowl with a single fluting, not the double fluting around the bowl this mouthpiece has. Rudy Muck, the person, used to work for Vincent Bach before going out on his own with his own mouthpiece designs. Bach would supply him with trumpet parts out the back door for his own line of trumpets to use for his mouthpieces, since they did not fit the "classical" "Bach" line. But you know, it does look similar, and could be, since there were variations, and not all models are well documented:

I've had the pleasure of playing a Rudy Muck medium bore trumpet, and for all practical purposes, it is the same (since that's where the parts came from) as a medium bore NY Bach Strad.
