Tolstar tuba?
I have a tuba in my possession with a stamp on it that says "Tolstar". I've been told it appears to be a German model, skinny with a tall bell, but I've never heard of one before and neither have any of my professors. It's a BBb and has four rotary valves. The only reference I could find to this model is an advertisement for a Tostar 18 mouthpiece. If anyone knows anything about this tuba, I would be grateful for the info. Thanks!

Re: Tolstar tuba?
I had one in the shop a number of years ago for some major work. Who knows?, It might even be the same horn. The owner at the time got it off da-bay in early 2003. He lived in Puyallup Washington State.
It was in pretty sad shape and was missing the complete lever and stop-arm assemblies. I made new stop-arms (that was fun) and support-bar mounts (posts) and connecting rod linkage. The replacement support bar and levers were Miraphone. It had a lot of cracks in it and was badly dented up. Took a lot of work to square it away but if I remember correctly, it wound up being a pretty decent playing horn.
Here are a before and after pic of the horn. German made B&S.

Re: Tolstar tuba?
As I interpret Daniel Oberloh’s photos, there are two strong indications this tuba was originally made by the B&S factory:
The shape of the thumb ring flange.
The entry angle into the 1st rotor and the exit angle from the 4th rotor.
