All,

David Chamberlain has asked me to pass along the following invitation. What a great opportunity to hear Alan along with a truly first-class brass ensemble!

Enjoy!

Gary

The HORA DECIMA BRASS ENSEMBLE, directed by David Chamberlain, is proud to announce that their Fall 2010 concert will feature guest solo artist Alan Baer, Principal Tuba with the New York Philharmonic. Mr. Baer will perform Koetsier's Don Giovannis Hollenfahrt as well as a new arrangement of La Virgen de la Macarena, the tune made famous by Rafael Mendez (but of course he played it on the trumpet!)

Hora Decima will also present two world premieres: Manhattan Scapes by David Matthews and Three Dances by Jeff Fairbanks. Other works are by Bob Mintzer, Rich Shemaria, Bach, Gabrieli, and Mendelssohn.

Date: Monday November 15th
Time: 7:00 PM
Venue: Christ & St. Stephen's Church
Address: 120 West 69th St. between Broadway & Columbus Avenue
Transportation: #1,2,3,& 9 Broadway trains to West 72nd St.
Admission: by contribution ($15 suggested)

Hora Decima has been hailed by The American Record Guide as a "superb ensemble...most impressive and enjoyable."

The Tacoma News Tribune says that Alan Baer "has really taken the low brass world to a new level."

Come hear one of America's finest large brass ensembles and one of the world's leading tuba virtuosos
performing music that is rarely heard.
