These cup extenders are a really neat idea, kinda cool. They basically extend the cup of a Sellmansberger Solo which is around Miraphone C4 (or Tu23/Laskey 30C/Schilke 69c4/Yamaha Bobo Symphonic) depth into something approximately Miraphone C3 (or Tu21/Laskey 30F/Schilke Helleberg II F/PT-72) depth.

A 'cup-extended' solo seems to mellow out quite a bit while still being clear. Might make a nice E-flat mouthpiece, small CC mouthpiece, or a single mouthpiece for somebody that wants to use exactly the same piece on a bunch of horns.

Apparently, there are at least 9 different rims (not counting Lexan at all) with 3 different inner dimensions and ALL RIMS FIT ALL CUPS (!!!!), so it shouldn't be too difficult to find a rim you like if you like one of Joe's cups.
