Sleeping beauty bass or contrabass?

I just got my part today for the ballet "Sleeping beauty". It is 67 pages of playing, mostly simple stuff, but it is really a lot. I can only imagine what the strings have
. We're performing the whole thing in 2 weeks with the dance students here and I am unsure of which tuba to use as I am unfamiliar with the piece. It seems like it would sit well on either instrument. For any of you have played this before what is normally used, bass or contrabass (F or CC in my case)? Or both (switching between acts or scenes) ? I haven't had much time to look over the part, just scimmed through it for a few minutes so this may be a stupid question that I can figure out on my own.
Also, we are using a smaller string section than we usually have (about half the size actually) so this makes me want to use the F as to have such a large sound that the strings are not heard.
