Renting a C Tuba in Portland Oregon

My name is Max Briggs and I am currently a Junior, Performance major at Illinois Wesleyan University. This December I am planning on traveling to Portland Oregon to visit my girlfriend for the holidays. The way that my travel plans are set up I will not be able to bring my horn with me. This would not be an issue If I did not have to perform a concerto with my university's orchestra in February. I can't afford to be off the horn for a long time. My hope is that there is someone in the Portland, Oregon area that has a Thor or similar CC tuba that I can rent for the time span of December 22 - January 3. Please let me know as soon as possible as my travel plans will likely have to change in the event that I can not find a horn in Portland.
Thanks,
Max
p.s. I know I am a ding-dong for leaving this to the last minute

Hmm... Portland Oregon is not the best place for tubas. If you were down in Eugene Oregon I could hook you up with something but there isn't much for CC tubas in Portland. Maybe a good time to work on your buzz?

I'd check with Ja'Tik Clark. I bet he can point you in the right direction.

My son was playing a Miraphone CC at PSU last spring, it was the school's horn.

Yup, us hicks here in the peoples rupublic o' portland have yet to diskover the majic of 'dem new fangled CC tuba thangs. Besides, all dem dere horns in Ugene smell like patchouli.
Nasty sarcasm off - If I had a Thor etc. I'd help. Check with Ja'Tik. If someone has a horn they can let go of for awhile he would know. I know the tuba player for the Columbia Symphony plays a Thor, but I believe it is his only horn. Charlie Violet and Chuck Bolton (maybe John Richards) would be other good resources.
Good luck.
