I was playing the Roger Jones 21 Distinctive Duets with a freshman today (last-lesson-before-Thanksgiving goofing off) and was reminded how good these duets are.

If you don't own them or you just haven't played them, consider buying a copy. A couple of the very finest duets written are included.

My copy has been missing for at least 10 years now. I'd love to get another, but judging from an earlier post it is not available.

You are correct, I didn't find it at the usual places. How sad.

Thanks for finding that. Now everybody, go buy a copy!

Roger Jones is 'retired' in Florida but still composing occasionally. I don't have any contact with him but if anybody in the Miami area does, you might suggest he should compose another tuba piece.

Roger is now living in Gulf Shores, AL and has been quite active lately. I like to kid him about his "retirement".
He's written a handful of tuba specific things in last decade, including a great programmatic work called Bellerophon: Slayer of the Chimera for me in 2005. I don't believe much of this in print yet, but he's working on it. Contact me if you folks want more info at teletran1175@yahoo.com" target="_blank.
