I cant find any info anywhere on my conn 5i euphonium , marked 5i on the bell, nickle plated ,K880xxx serial number,
4 valves.

any info would be appreciated,

Serial number doesn't look right. The 800000 puts it in the early 1960's but the K might not belong.

From that list, looks to be from 1967.

edit: is it K880xx or K880xxx? If it's K880xxx then I am unsure. But maybe that link will steer you in the right direction.

You're probably missing another letter in front of the 'K'. ... which is the decade. The '8' is the year of the decade. The 'K' stands for November.

For example... I have a detachable upright bell euph with four front valves with serial number GH980131. Mine was made in August of 1979. The rest of the numbers are consecutive production numbers for the month of August.

I think what I have is a 5i but there's no number on the bell... only 'Conn - Elkhart'. The 1st valve has a pull rod on it.

I was thinking the same thing, Dan.

The only time I know of when the model number was put on the bell was during Eastlake production.

There you go. Your horn was made in November of 78. I've not seen any of the Conns in nickle but anything's possible.

I took a look through my database and I somehow cataloged my detachable bell-up four front-action euph as a 41i. Don't have a clue where that number came from. It doesn't appear in the Conn 'Loyalist' information. The main tuning slide has the heavy bracing that I've seen mostly on the 20i (short-action) euphs....

Unusual to see one of those horns with a top 1st slide!
