Hi-
FINALLY--a company is coming out with a tuba gig bag with wheels and an extension handle just like luggage with wheels has! About time!! It is only a 4/4 size--no pics available yet--but hopefully this will be a new trend!!

I made a bell up version out of a leather gig bag, 2 bundgie cords, a $25 folding luggage cart, and a sheet of pepwood (plastic sheeting embedded with wood). I've been using this set up for the last 3-4 years. The best thing about it is that I always have a place to hang my jacket.

Hi-
I believe the tuba wheelie bag is brand new--hence no picture. I think the price varieties are for cordura, cordura with leather trim, and all leather. I know they are also coming out with a new 'mid suspension' type tuba bag for better protection (like for their new KAISER bag which is good for 20.5" bell and 43 inches long--a BIG bag!)--which the wheelie bag may include. I did check the GARD website, and all it had was a listing of the GARD 4/4 tuba with 19" bell wheelie bag.
I am curious too if: a). it protects and b). it works.

Edit: ah, now that there's a picture, I see it's not.

I have three Gard bags (tenor trombone, bass trombone, and euphonium) and they're all very well designed and provide excellent protection for the instruments. All have wheels (although they've stopped making trombone wheelie bags), backpack straps, and "raincoats" for hauling in inclement weather. They do make a few different sizes of tuba bags and a friend of mine has one with which he seems quite pleased. You can probably get better information from Pete La Placa at PJLA Music (pjlamusic.com). He's the US distributor for Gard.

I dunno about the wheelie bags, but the one tuba bag I have from Gard, for my Eb, is wonderful. Not as much protection as a Cronkhite bag, but 1/3 the cost also, for a tuba that I'm not going to have for gigs all that much. The raincoat is very cool! I wish there was some extra padding over the front valve area, and along the side for 3+1 horns. I stuck a piece of cardboard in the pocket, so it serves to protect the valves.
