Hello, everyone!
Would anyone have a scanned version of the Holst Suite in Eb part they could send me? The part seems to have gone missing from my band excerpts binder over the last day or so, and I need the part for an upcoming audition. Thanks, and any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t have the part in print, and I would have scanned it in a higher resolution, if I had had it. The whole set of parts from this rather early version is on IMSLP, from where I had taken it down long ago in connection with a discussion of the problematic editions of this fine music.
The basic problem is that Holst set the score for the then regulation regimental band (or at least quite close). A band reform of around 1928 took out the flugelhorns and baritones. Saxophones were then entered. The sore spot of the newer editions appears being about some baritone and flugelhorn lines, but as I understand it, the bass line is the same. Only the potential substitution of tuba for string bass may be relevant in some bands.
I could have exchanged mail addresses with you and have sent the .pdf-version. But the point on that matter is, that the .pdf-version is no better. And then I guess a lot of TubeNetters not getting the chance to play this music in their present bands could just as well get this fine music via an open distribution and save the way around the open but somewhat unwieldy IMSLP site.
