Hello, I was just wondering if anyone here has used the P.E.T.E., and if so, what did you think of it?
Thanks

I've been using one for several months. My high range has improved only slightly, but my tone quality has improved significantly. I use it about 20 minutes each morning. If I go as little as two days without using it, my tone quality deteriorates. I recommend it. Yes, you could go to a hardware store and come up with something similar on your own.

When I first went back to playing the tuba I bought one. It was okay, but I doubted it was doing what I really needed to do. So I made something similar myself using the inside diameter of the mouthpiece I was using at the time to get the diameter. I felt like it helped me strengthen the muscles at the corners of my mouth and stopped me from leaking air there. I haven't used it in months, though, and haven't missed it.

You'll be MUCH better served to simply play as much as you can every day. Practice long tones...a lot...and concentrate on making the purest sound possible with no "junk" in it. DON'T NEGLECT PRACTICING AT A SOFT VOLUME...too many players don't practice playing softly at all.

P.E.T.E. is no substitute for face time. Stay away from it.

Thank you guys, you have confirmed my beliefs. When I watched the video I wondered how squeezing and pulling helped your playing. I thought I may have missed something, so I came to you guys. :) it sounds to me like the P.E.T.E is more for drum corps enthusiasts.

I've been using one since the last week of December. My felixibility has improved dramaticaly. That's the biggest improvement I have noticed. My endurance is also begininng to improve . I can now survive my weekly 2 hour band rehersal with plenty to spare. My high range ( Concert A to Bb ) is also staring to show some improvemen.t They are getting easier to play and are much more in tune.

This tool should be used as any other muscle builder should be. In conjunction with regular practice. This is not meant to be used as a stand alone miracle do all product. It's not marketed that way. Terry Warburton even says so in his video . As far as I am concerned it lived up to its claims.

I am a amature musician. Playing music is what I do in my spare time for relaxation. Rather than practicing several hours a day I am lucky if I can practice a couple of hours a week. PRIORITIES! This little device has helped me greatly. I can only imagine what it do for me if I could practice more often. I would reccommend it .

I must admit I was taken back by the $40.00 price but I'm not sorry I bought one.
