"LOUD" Mouthpieces

i was thinking about purchasing a LOUD mouthpiece, ive been playing on a Denis Wick 1XL for over a year now. I love it but i think its not giveing me the best sound(s) i know i can play with. I was wanting to get the LM - 3 for its apparently "darker, rich, loud sound." but ive also heard that the deeper the bowl, the harder it is to articulate. should i let up on the deepness and go to a LM - 4 or LM -5 or just try or the LM - 3?

The LOUD LM-7 has a slightly rounded bowl, and is the same general cup diameter as your Wick. When I tried one, to me it had more definition on the low end than a Wick 1 or 1L. But it also made the slots very tight to the point I was riding throttle on #1 a lot more on my 186. Being more of a band "set-and-forget" guy than an orchestra player chasing wire choir intonation, I did not keep it, although if I were an orchestra player it would be on the short list of alternatives for its razor sharp intonation and big sound with both core and breadth. I found it easier to articulate than a Wick 1. If you're wanting cleaner articulation than your Wick 1XL, then I would try the 7 first.

The LM4 is a huge mouthpiece that is modeled after the PT88 (which was designed as a special application mouthpiece for low register playing). It's a tiny bit smaller in inner rim diameter (33.2 vs 33.5).

Stainless is very smooth and comfortable, however, it's not indestructible, the shank CAN dent if you drop it, and it's still prone to getting nicks and scratches (though less than brass plated silver/gold).

Just my couple of cents..

so then in your opinion, a LM-4 or LM -7 would be better to try before the LM-3?
