You are probably refering to the pix of Floyd on his web site with the Floyd-o-phone, the Nirschl. There is great engraving on that horn. Seems those ornate engravings of the past are a long lost art.

But ya better watch out with that York logo. Mr. brianf has a stake in the rights to that.

Sure hope she engraves better than she draws. The drawings look like bad caricatures!

Actually, it looks like she does some damfino work!
There are photographic examples of the horns on her website of the horns she's engraved.
Thanks for the link, bloke....I may even use her services myself someday.
Hmm...that begs a question....would non-original (albeit high quality) add to or detract from an instrument's resale value?

Don't try making t shirts - great shirt but I have ton of XLs still around of the York logo.

The engraving may not be a totally lost art, but it seems to be lost to the manufacturers of most tubas. It would be nice to have this type of engraving come with the horn rather than endure the expense of aftermarket work (although I have been considering it).
