Does anyone have any direct experience with this?

Looks like a potentially positive step forward if it avoids the issues that affected the old plastic core HB valves.

Maybe it's like the concept with cars: lighter=faster.

Just FYI, note that the site says "Carbon rotor", not "Carbon Fiber rotor".
It may or may not be the same thing, but I would be surprised if it was actually carbon fiber.
I think that's likely just tryplen 2.0.

So they won't give tubas better acelleration and cornering?

Wow . . . I google Tryplen and get no meaningful hits that aren't in Italian (and I don't really know if they're meaningful or not). Does anyone know of an info source for the material?

A dumb question... who do these guys supply valves for?
That is, these things look cool! But what tubas could you actually order with these valves? Or, do I have to wait until some big name player wants these, then gets his name attached to a tuba, and has that tuba made with these?

FYI, Meinlschmidt does have a reference list
http://www.jm-gmbh.de/html/meinlschmidt_referenzen.html, where Alexander and Thein are the most prominent customers.
However, these makers don't use carbon valves as standard. Possibly as an option.
