Do any of you change mouthpieces for different ensembles, pieces, etc. If so, what do you use and why?

When I like a mpc. enough on a horn, I'll stick with it.

Sometimes. On contrabass tuba and sousa I usually use a Bach 18, but on Eb I go between the 18 and a contrabass trombone mouthpiece. On contrabone I've been switching between 2 mouthpieces (which really aren't very different at all); on bass trombone I use a contra mp for quintet and stuff where I stay in the staff or below and want a fatter sound, I use a Yamaha 60B for big band and rock band; on big tenor I go between the 60B, a 3G, and a 6.5AL (though I rarely play that horn at all); on small tenor (never play it) and marching trombone I've been messing around with a 6.5AL and a 12C; and on euphonium I stick with my Wick SM3M on my medium shank horn but use a contra mp or the 60B on other horns (the contra mp and a King 2280 is a sweet combo!!).
I'm checking out a cimbasso now and will probably use one of the contra mp's on that.

The 2 I use the most are the Bach 18 and JK KBP2C. I could do all my tuba, euphonium, bass, and contrabass trombone playing on those 2 alone. As it is, I like the crossover system I have though I really don't play several of the horns.

I usually find a mpc and stick with it. On my PT20 I use a Stofer Geib. It's an excellent 'normal' mpc. It works well in all ranges and is a comfortable fit. On my Petrushka I use the mpc they provided (can't remember off the top of my head). It has a comfortable rounded rim and deep enough to play low but narrow enough to sing in the upper range. My professor is primarily an Eb player so when he plays a piece that is more demanding the low range he changes to his Deck II. just my .02

I use my Dillon PS03 for most of my tuba playing but I do occasionaly change to my Monette or G&W to see if I can get a better blend with that particular ensemble. I do that mostly with chamber groups and use the Dillon for large ensembles.

On my euphonium I use only my LOUD LM20 but I do have a Wick SM3 that I will practice with sometimes.

However, I do tend to go a little mp crazy on my bass bone. For most things I use my Schilke 59. If I am playing a piece that is soley in the low register I switch over to a LOUD LM30. If I'm covering higher parts or "normal" trombone range stuff then I use a Wick 0AL.
