I am SO out of the loop, I've never seen a pic of that horn before.

Not really. It is a Nirschl 4/4 which Besson bought the rights to.

Ah, ok, a stencil horn. So to speak.
Still, that's not a shape that I would have ever expected to see in a Besson catalog.

No, it's a 4/4. Tuba size is hard to determine when there is nothing to compare against.
Nirschl designed it in partnership with Boosey and Hawkes, and it's a little fuzzy in my mind his role in that organization (and I'm aware that his role has evolved over time). But my understanding is that it is made in Besson factories.
The price is reported to be more in line with Besson's usual price points than with Nirschl's.
