Identify Old King 2341

Post by Z-Tuba Dude »

I have an older King 2341 (I think!). My question is: the first valve slide is not able to be manipulated with the left hand, so is it really a 2341? I remember reading a comment somewhere, that the fixed first tuning slide was idicative of a different model. Is that true? If so, what model?

Thanks!

The earlier model of the King 2341 was the 1241. It was similar to the 2341, bur the first valve slide wasn't accessable and much of the other tubing was routed differently. Some contend that the 1241 plays better than the 2341, but the only ones I have been able to play were pretty beat up and my 2341 (when I had the 2 piece version) played better.
