I never thought I would actually enjoy playing Blazhevich until I arranged this one as a duet for some of my students:

This exercise from the Robert King edition was the Connecticut All-state audition piece, but then the auditions were canceled because of snow. I still work on it with the kids, and they reluctantly admit that they like it.
Now that it's in my computer I could easily transpose it to other keys.

Not detracting from the second part that you've added (other than a possible question about the Picardy), what would the students complain about? The original Blazhevich is as melodic as a you could ask of any étude.

To each his own. I just find it more fun to play as a duet. It also helps the student to count more carefully than they would playing it alone. As for the Picardy, don't knock it until you have tried it.
