Romera Mouthpiece with "Bite" on inner rim

Hey All!

Long time lurker, fairly new to posting here. I recently traded in both of the horns I used for my MM degree for the Miraphone 1281 (living in NYC means space is at a premium!). I couldn't be happier with the horn - I have so much fun playing it.

Unfortunately, my MF "H" mouthpiece isn't the right fit for me and this F horn (I love the mouthpiece for CC playing). During my master's degree I was borrowing a Romera Brass mouthpiece for my "F" playing that was fantastic. The mouthpiece was very unique looking - enormous like a soda can with ridges on the outside (it barely fit in a mouthpiece case). The cup itself was shallow, and the inner rim had a characteristic protrustion/bite that extended past the normal diamteter of the cup. The walls on the mp were pretty thick.

I realize pictures would help tracking this down, and I'm working procuring those from the owner. In the meantime...anyone come across the model I'm describing? Any identifiers I could give to Romera to facilitate ordering another one would be appreciated!

Good to know, thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, I truly have no idea which model the mp was. A picture would be worth a thousand words. I'll work on posting some to see if anyone knows the model.

I'm pretty sure the model you are talking about is a Mel Culbertson model,

Thats it! Or at least very close to it, although the model I had was a bit more contoured on the outside. Probably just a later model.

Thanks a ton!!!
