Is there a recording out there besides the one on Trombone & Tuba by Christer Torge and Michael Lind or does anyone have a recording of themselves playing it? I have this piece programed for my recital next month and would like to hear a different version of it.

I have no knowledge about your question. However your searches might be much more fruitful, if you spelled the first names of these players right.

In most cases messages come through despite spelling errors. That even goes in Google searches most of the time, as they like experienced human text readers, work by some algorithms of likelihood.

Numbers and names are sore areas, as errors may be hard to detect. Michael Lind’s name spelled wrong in a tuba context may cause little of a problem, as that name is fairly unique among the after all fairly few top range tuba soloists.

I can see at once that the name Christer is uniquely Swedish, whereas an o after the t moves the context to Slavonic or Latin language areas. Which really will confuse dedicated searches for the relevant answers.

Another sample really surprising me, was when I read a program telling that one of the DC service bands would perform a piece by Morten Lauridsen. I never had heard about a composer of that name, which would be odd as I know the names of most Danish composers. And that name is not only uniquely Danish, it also like my own, is archaic Danish. But then this modern American composer hardly ever is performed in the country of his ancestors.

Spelling is not a moral area, it is an area of precise communication. Which I as a dyslectic myself learned, and still relearn, the hard way. I once thought the ability to spell correctly revealed intelligence, but my work as a schoolteacher definitely taught me that such correlation cannot be counted on.

So, does anyone know of an alternate recording of this piece? Also, if you have played it before, what section would you say that you had the most trouble with and what advice would you give for someone who is learning it?

Reread the OP and tried Google.

Saw no other recording than with the Swedish trombonist and the Danish tubist.

For the composer there was only one portrait entry on the first page. In Dutch Wikipedia, which is not odd for a band composer. Only that this composer is American and held prominent positions as a teacher as well as a performer (which I learned from the Dutch article).

The problem appears being the age of the composer (born 1921). He retired just prior to the web taking off for real, so that whatever performances or recordings of his have not been documented on the web. Implying here that the composer and/or prominent colleagues of his very likely have performed this piece.

If so, likely search places would be in your Library of Congress and in the storages of non-commercial radio stations, at national, state, or university levels. But I know too little of the American specifics to do that search.

I played this back in college and frankly don't remember it being particularly difficult. You do have to watch the balance between the two voices as I recall .
It is kind of a fun piece so enjoy it and the audience will too!!
