What can you tell me about this York?

Hey y'all!
So, I have this York. She's been around.
23" bell (if i'm measuring correctly... just straight across the middle, right?)
heavy as all get out
serial number dates it from 1921/1922
I'm told it's 6/4
I think it's too big for me. its not the weight, but no amount of bit or neck adjustment allow for me to be in a position where i'm not craning up for the mouthpiece.
The bell has slots in the bottom bit for the screws from the receiver. When these are all aligned, the bell points off really far to the left or right - and not where I'm told it should be pointing (to where i'm looking, basically). Apart from bugging a few of the more OCD dudes I'm playing with, it puts it massively off balance and I end up in some ridiculous positions.
The horn has a great, deep sound. I'm woodshedding, but other way more awesome players have played it and enjoyed it for the sound, and it's mechanical soundness. Basically, it just looks like hell.
This is my first sousaphone, and my questions are these:
- Has anyone got experience with a horn like this?
I'm solidly built and 5'7.5", so I doubt it's my stature making it awkward. or is it? any ideas on how to make it more balanced and/or fit me? I've tried making my neck longer, but it's not working yet.
- If I were to find a decently priced, ohidunno... Conn 20K, what do you think the biggest differences between the 2 horns would be?
I've played a friend's 20k and, while he says they're both the exact same size, they aren't. Or, if they are, his lead pipe is just different because it connects to my face without complicated yoga moves. Would you consider moving from the York to a Conn to be a wise move?
- How much is a horn like this worth?
To get another horn, I would have to let dear, Big Sousan, go. I understand that something is worth as much as you can get for it, but really: you all are tuba nerds and are smart about these things. How much is realistic?
- If you were me, what would you do?
Lump it out with the York (maybe get the bell and lead pipe altered to fit better?), or jump ship and find a reasonably priced used Conn 20K?
And, because I feel guilty even contemplating replacing the old girl while she's in the room, here are some photos so that you can see how pretty she is.

thanks so much in advance of your help!
