Five hours. $40.
Left the house last night at 5:00 pm for a 7:30 quintet gig just outside of town.
It was a 6:15 call. Ran through a couple of tunes then sat around until 7:30.
40 people in the audience. At least with a quintet, there is a better chance that the audience outnumbers the musicians.
Played the set and packed up by 9:15 pm. Back in the house around 10:00.
Five hours. $40. $8 an hour only if you don't factor in practice time.
Actually, the $40 was a surprise. I didn't know we were getting gas money.
Guess we do it for the love of music.
