Hello
Came across this site:
http://www.brassbanned.com" target="_blank
Live streaming the Australian Nationals Brass Band comp. next weekend, and showing a nice video of MNOZIL brass - their tuba player does to his tuba what I often want to do to mine!!

I'll be there!!!
My band is making the journey from Tasmania to Adelaide for the weekend. Unfortunately, the streaming coverage doesn't extend to the lower grades (we're in C-grade), but the A-grade own choice should be an entertaining afternoon.
Our test piece is Purcell Variations as played here by Black Dyke:

follow the link on the side for part 2.
When I first heard it, I thought it was a ripping Eupho part. Imagine my surprise when I found most of the real fun bits in the Eb tuba part. Has been good fun working it up, and although we obviously won't be anywhere near the quality of Black Dyke, we're having a red hot go!

I'll be there blurting away in "B" grade. Long drive to play half an hour of music.
