Rolf Wilhelm Concertino: Orchestral Accompaniment?

Hello everyone,

I recently performed Rolf Wilhelm's Concertino for the University of Illinois Concerto Competition and was selected as one of the winners. As a result, I have the opportunity to perform a concerto with the U of I Symphony Orchestra next year. I would dearly love to perform the Wilhelm with the orchestra, however I have been unable to find an orchestral accompaniment version, only the wind ensemble accompaniment. There is the possibility of performing with the orchestra sans strings, but I am unsure of the willingness of the conductor to do so, and would like to be aware of all possible options available to me.

I have tried contacting Mr. Tucci (who premiered the work) to see if he had any leads for me to follow, but have not heard back from him as of yet. I have also looked into finding Mr. Wilhelm's email address to contact him directly, but have been unsuccessful thus far. If anyone has any information regarding an orchestral version of this accompaniment or contact information for Mr. Wilhelm, I would greatly appreciate anything you have to offer. Please feel free to PM or email me. Thanks in advance!

The copyright for the Concertino for tuba and wind instruments by Rolf Wilhelm is held by the publisher: Strube Verlag, in Munich ©1990.
There is no listing of an orchestration with strings on the music databases and it is doubtful that the composer has written string parts. Contact the publisher directly and the Marine Band Library to ask about an orchestration.

I played this piece with band several years ago. I do not know how I came across this information, but the work was originally scored for a standard wind section of the orchestra. The instrumentation was expanded for full band. Sounds like you just need original parts and then give the strings a rest and you're good to go!
