Yeah I figure that it will be very expensive but it's a good thing we have two years to get ready for it.

Heh, if your school-owned tuba is a PT-605, it seems like y'all should be okay.

Congrats, and bring warm clothes! It can be brutal out there!

+1 on the warm clothes - I did Macy's in 1978, and there was a run-through of the entire parade in the morning before dawn - something like 2 am. It was freezing - literally. They painted the street white so the TV cameras would have better contrast, and the paint never dried, it was that cold. (Paint was as good as grease to march on) But it was over-all a good experience. Be carefull of your speed-of-advance -there's a real mixed bag of High School, Jr. High, Military Bands, as well as the balloons, which don't seem to keep any kind of pace. -- Have fun! :P

get as much sleep as you can leading up to your travel week...the parade requires a middle of the night line up after your 20 minutes of rehearsal for your 5 minutes in the TV zone ! But it is a wonderful parade in front of a very enthusiastic crowd .
You will have an absolute blast . Hope for decent weather...
