And even after getting your nextuba you always need the installation of the universal solution to any tuba related problem, the VLTADS,

Klaus

PS: You don’t get VLTADS? Please check your acronym acrobatics! It is just so obvious: Very Long Trigger Assembly Doubly Sprung!

I can't seem to make it work out as an acronym for "ask your teacher," Klaus.

Interesting way to stir the pot. See here: http://www.craigknoxtuba.com/a-few-thou ... ipment.php

Interesting article by Craig.

In the UK the tendency seems to more be for the majority of players to stick with the ubiquitous 3+1 compensated Eb (with 24AW, or Dennis Wick mouthpiece) and not experiment with equipment. I often wonder when listening to concerts if the tuba player could sound better with other equipment? Don't get me wrong, the compensated Eb is a really excellent versatile instrument, but I don't think it necessarily the best for everything, or everybody.

For myself, I have receive far more compliments (from conductors, other musicians and audience) since I have been playing my Neptune CC and PT-15 F than I ever used to on my one time Besson 981 Eb. I feel I have now found the equipment to match myself.

One can seem to be chasing new equipment in a 'nextuba' manner while trying to find the right match, but much like dating the other sex, hopefully you will eventually find your 'perfect' match - and then that is the time to settle and be satisfied :)

 BLOKESTORATIONS works just as well. Or if you had some custom work done on your tuba by bloke, you could say: "I had my tuba 'Blokesterized'". :tuba:

I know about BAT and dentbag, I've seen TFJ, but what does that one stand for? My acronym decifering skills aren't the greatest.

Lastuba: A tuba with 0% of characteristics which has one or more nextuba's as predecessors.

Firstuba: A tuba which has no nextuba's as predecessors.

Doubtpiece - noun - ˈdout-pees - 1. The mouthpiece, usually made of unobtainium, that once found will enable to have the tub[a]ist have complete control of range, clarity, dynamics and articulation. Or any one that seems better than the one that you're currently using.
