I saw a post awhile back about the 2012 ITEC repertoire. After searching the internet for orchestral pieces to begin to work up, I have found nothing. Does anyone know a good way to find the tuba parts to some of these pieces.

Most of these are on the Cherry CD. I've seen the Sensemaya with an Indiana U. stamp on it..might wanna check with them. Also, check your school music library to see what's there.

OT: Isn't the tuba part to the band arrangement of Sensemaya practically, if not exactly, the same as the orchestra part? I've played both and I could've swore they are.

Most of those excerpts are from pieces in the public domain and can probably be found in excerpts books (including the Gordon Cherry CD, as mentioned above), the IMSLP, or other online services. If the actual parts aren't there, you can easily extract them from the score (and studying the score is a good thing!).

The Adams, Mussorgsky (orchestrated by Ravel), Prokofiev, Respighi, and Revueltas are still under copyright in the U.S. of A., so those can't be found legally so easily. I think the Adams would be the toughest to get a hold of because it is relatively very new and the composer is still alive.

I'm not sure of the legality of it, but one way you could get any of these parts is by physically getting the scores and extracting the parts. If you're a college student, your school's music library should have all of these pieces.

I am a college student, but unfortunately we just got out for summer break and I won't have access to the library until this fall.

Right after posting this, I came across a thread pertaining to an excerpt book and it seemed to have most of the pieces, so I might look into getting it. Here is the thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=39494 I think that It will help out alot.
