PT-3 details

Hi there!

I just took delivery of a pre-perantucci PT-3. It seems a little less "lively" than the one I have been borrowing, which was made in the GDR. Does anyone know if there was a difference in the way these were made before and immediately after the communist era?
It came with the extension to make the fifth valve a 2-3 combination, which is cool!

Thanks,

DM

Take your new horn to a good repairman and have it professionally cleaned and the valves aligned. Schmutz in the bugle could easily explain the differences you are experiencing.

Is it a thicker gauge of metal?

That's what I'm wondering.

I think some of the older models were hand hammered. The thinner material used on those horns could be a difference.
