Brett,

That is a real acomplishment (students selected from states from Maryland to Maine), congrats!

I was in the All Eastern Band in 1973 (it was in Boston) as a junior. It was held every two years. I cannot say enough about what a positive experience (musical and otherwise) it was. For me, All State was great, All Eastern was beyond anything I had expected. My advice is: wherever you end up in the section, enjoy, learn and take home a lot of happy memories.

If you want to discuss All Eastern Band more, feel free to e-mail me.

I was in the All-Eastern Honors Band when I was in 11th grade (2003). It is a lot of work but the group sounded great. When I was in it there were 11 tubists. If I remember correctly there were about 16 horns and about 14 trombones. It was an extremely large group. I would have to say it was well over 100. Overall it was a lot of fun. When I was in it the festival took place in Rhode Island and it was the middle of a blizzard. I have to say I think that Baltimore will be a better place. If you have any other questions email me

Hey,
I was also in the All Eastern Band in 2003. It was a huge ensemble, but really fun. Im sure youll have a great time. Make sure you take time to go to the convention center and check out all of the different exhibits and booths.

Congratulations,
Eric

Do they have a band like this for the South-Eastern region of the country?
Your band director should know, if not contact your state's music educators association.

good luck,
Mark
