Here's a picture of one. Looks like it was probably made by Cerveny.

Any thoughts on what shank (i.e. American vs. European) to use with this mouthpiece receiver? Thanks for the pic!

Hi!
I own one. It's a Cerveny stecil made for Conn. It is just lacking the nickel silver rim on the bell.

Here is a picture of mine. Originally it comes with a flat half-tone slide for the 5th valve like it is pictured on the website mentioned above. I asked Cerveny to make a flat whole-tone slide – which was no problem at all and very reasonable – with which it is pictured:
It is a nice horn, plays pretty well over all the entire range. Intonation is good, just the fifth partial is pretty flat. If you play really loud up to the max it has the tendency to sound hard and to become too crisp. But If you know it you can steer against it. It just takes pretty much air to play on it.
I dont't have to mention that it's totally exotic here in Germany where really no one plays a CC tuba. And I don't even know anyone who plays one. And I don't know anyone who knows anyone who plays one...

I almost forgot to tell you that this horn can serve a 40 piece wind band pretty well. It looks small but has some great tone and loudness if you know how to keep it away from breaking out. I love mine!

Some Cervenys can be very nice horns. They are inconsistent, though, and made of very thin metal. But when you get a good one, they are very good.
It's interesting to me how some Miraphones look similar to Cervenys, yet sound quite different

The Cerveney and Miraphone Tubas look alike because Miraphone is the direct descendant of Cerveney! A group of Craftsmen emigrated to Germany from Kraslice years ago...I believe Cerveney invented the modern rotary valve, too. As to why they sound different? maybe it's the Brass? I don't pretend to be any sort of expert there...

I know its an old thread but I recently ran across a guy with a Conn 97J BBb rotary. I had no clue these existed until I did my research on here. I think it would be cool to own a rotary horn with "Conn" on the bell. Don't see that too often. It looked new too in rose brass.
