That number is in a similar range to my euphonium (also in the middle 500,000's as I recall), which traced to 1974. Besson has a serial number search page, but it is apparently not working--your serial number was not found, and I couldn't find any serial numbers that would provide a response.

Let's just say that Besson's web design lags behind the instruments, and form our own conclusions about what that might mean.

For what it's worth, my Boosey & Hawks euph, numbered in the 65xxxx range, was manufactured in 1979.

I understand that if yours has an intermediate receiver, it is a pre-1974 model.
