Should I do it???

I was thinking of purchasing my high school tuba. From 1961 (the 1st year of the school) to 1991, we had 2 Besson 3 valve tuba. I had it the last 4 wonderful years, going to state solos and state concert festivals. However, in the last 2 weeks of me going to graduating, the school bought 2 St. Pete tuba and shipped the old tuba to the junkyards after graduation.
The tuba are lost gone. However, I really want to purchase a similar Besson tuba to play and show it with my friends.
My question is: AM I CRAZY?

You're a tuba player, aren't you? I don't know what else you have coming up in the future. How much, and where you will play, etc. Depending on the circumstances, you might want to wait a little while. You may discover there are other tubas you would like even better. See if you can get a chance to "test drive" a bunch of them. Decide what your budget allows, etc.

Those Besson 3-valve compers are great horns, once you remove the "nut buster" if that's the model in question...
