Canadian Brass tuba?

The Canadian Brass performed this past week in Seattle. They were just fabulous. After hearing a few of their CD's, it was a delight to experience them in person with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. Does anyone know what sort of Yamaha tuba Charles Daellenbach plays? It was most interesting to contrast the more compact soloistic sound he produced in comparison to the huge wall of sound that the SSO's Chris Olka made on what I assume was a CC.

Fortunately, I and my step-son (both tuba players) were sitting centerstage, first row and got to see the guys up close (special $10 tickets, too). Chuck played his Yamaha YCB-621 CC tuba. Of course, I noted that he had a few nice dents in the first branch, the gold plating was worn down to silver on the slides he manipulates with his hands and his thumb ring was attached to the first valve casing. Another great CB performance. Daryl

Hi Norm!

I was there on Wednesday night. Dallenbach was indeed playing a Yamaha YCB-621 CC. Olka was playing a Nirschl York.

If you are interested, I remember seeing a posting a week or two ago from some one selling a YBB-621 tuba on Merrcer Island. That's the BBb version of the tuba Dallenbach was playing.
