Could someone tell me what is the bore size of a Holton Eb Monster?
For all I know is not the same as the York Eb Monster that measures 0.656".

Thanks

Frank.

Actually, I think the Holton Monster Eb's have the same or similar bore to the York Monster Eb's .656 bore. I have "measured" my Holton Eb's bore against the King souzy's .687 bore and it is slightly smaller. So that leads me to think the Holton Monster Eb tubas have a .656 or .660 bore.

Lee Stofer had an old small Holton BBb tuba that sported a .660 bore and 19" bell .......identical specs to the old Holton Monster Eb tubas.

Frank Holton & Co. BBb tuba, 3 valves, silver-plated, serial # 72099 (circa 1921)............................SOLD

This vintage tuba is one of my play-condition restorations, designed to make the instrument mechanically sound, and offer a great-playing instrument at a modest price . There is finish wear, and I had to repair several cracks in the bell. If the instrument bears strong resemblance to a York model 33 BBb, there is a good reason, with a .660" bore, 19" bell and overall length of 31". A case is available for extra cost.
