I have my first Audition for a Collegiate ensemble in to weeks and after weeks of asking I finally got the requirements; I need two contrasting pieces. I have never auditioned for an orchestra before and have only played band arrangements. Do I simply replay what i played for my college auditions? pick something else? Advice?

It would be nice if you played something other than what you played at your first audition. Auditions of the "two contrasting pieces" are fun because you have a lot of freedom with your choice of rep. I've usually just played two etudes, but I've also played bits of a Bach cello suite and a few orchestral excerpts. Overall, just play whatever you're comfortable with and can play well!

Play what you have ready. If the people who heard your original audition are listening to this one, which may or may not be, they won't care that you're playing the same thing. They will care that you play well. If they required orchestral excerpts, it would have been stated. Relax, play what you have to the best you can, and have fun!
