Last time I had anything made out of canvas, I had it done at Bob Picot on Boat Street on Lake Union. As can be guessed, they make things out of canvas for boats and yachts. They made me a top for an antique wood ski boat and did a good job.

Seattle Fabric might have an idea, as the materials would likely come from there.

I've made a couple cordura nylon cases myself, but didn't really finish either of them - got them to the point where I could use them, but in both cases was kind of stumped on the liner details. If I were making a case today, I might think about some way to use "fluted polypropylene".

Have you talked with Donna Altieri (http://www.altieribags.com) about this? I'll bet she has already made a sousaphone gig bag and has the patterns.

Does anyone own a sousaphone gig bag and would be willing to take some detailed pictures?

The places that have replied are able to, they just need to know what a regular case looks like and is made of.
There are two ProTec bags running on Ebay right now...

I know there are gig bags out there, but none of them fit a jumbo sousaphone...
Donna would still have the experience to do a good job.

I can imagine.

My King has a 26" bell and it's a tight fit into my Protec. I've had the bag for > 15 years. The only thing that has gone wrong is a metal swivel on one of the straps that gave out last summer.

I don't think Protec makes anything larger, though.

I had a ProTec gig bag for three or four years, until I sold it and my sousaphone recently. I was perfectly happy with the bag, except I always wanted to get an extra handle sewn on the top edge. Instead, I just left the zippers open enough to grab and lift.

I think this is more detail than you need of this one:
