Basically TA comp. vs FA comp.

Seems to me that UK players might consider the 17 inch bell 980 to be "more similar than different" than the 983.
The poll might be more interesting if all four models could be voted for individually.

I dunno. 1291 / 1292 ??bloke wrote:They REALLY made an entire model designation out nothing more than a "slitly smaller leadpipe" ?
Obviously it helps with "hole" notes, the staple of a tubaist's repertoire.bloke wrote:bloke "Wouldn't a mouthpipe with a slit in it play kind-of funny?"
OK... I voted 3 times, once for each of the options which are *not* the 982 just to nullify your vote.bloke wrote:OK...since the poll is "scientific", I voted for 982.cjk wrote:Interesting that the Besson 982 has zero votes. I wonder why.

Bingo. Too bad they didn't make a 983-2 or something that was closer to the 981 but just with front action, to make it more of an all-around horn as a complement to the more soloistic 983.GC wrote:I voted for larger bell and larger sound. I really prefer front action valves, but sound is more important.
